What motivates you?

I've wanted to become a pediatrician since I was 6 years old for multiple reasons. My mom is a retired nurse and her stories piqued my interest in healthcare. I loved visiting my pediatrician and thought he had the coolest job. As years passed, I naturally gravitated towards roles where I could interact with children and marveled at their resilience. I realize how privileged I am to have my dream come true. Kids are amazing and being part of their lives, watching them grow, and helping them makes my days fulfilling. I've never had a boring day at work! :) Working at Watchung Pediatrics in Millburn is awesome! It's a place I now consider a second home with camaraderie amongst the staff. Days are filled with laughter, thoughtful conversations, and the unpredictability of what kids will do. I've also enjoyed connecting with the parents and caregivers. Their questions and thoughts push me to be a better physician. Outside of work I enjoy reading, hot yoga, travelling, and spending time with my family and friends. I live with my husband and two sons and we are active in our church community. I'm a big fan of tea in general, though holds a special place for me. I keep a bucket list of skills I want to learn — recently I checked off swimming and using a sewing machine. I view each day as an opportunity to be kind, help someone, and improve.

Love them all but our baby mainly sees Dr. Alias who is so personable and thoughtful as much as she is knowledgeable and a great doctor!

Dr. Alias is empathetic, thorough and thoughtful. She speaks directly to my children, asking them questions and explaining ideas in ways that are child-centric. She approaches my children in a holistic manner rather than in a clinical vacuum.
