For as long as I can remember, I knew I wanted to be a doctor and more specifically, a pediatrician. There is something incredibly special about caring for children and being part of their lives as they grow. One of the things I love most about pediatrics is that my days can range from caring for a newborn with first-time parents to seeing a teenager heading off to college whom I've known since birth. It is deeply gratifying to watch families grow and to care for them year after year. I hope that through those years I'm able to instill how important it is for children and families to have a trusting, comfortable relationship with their doctor. Perhaps even more special (and yes, it may give away my years in practice!) is now seeing some of my former patients become parents themselves and having the privilege of caring for their children. Moments like that remind me why I chose pediatrics in the first place. I'm married and have a blended family of 5 adult children. Outside of work, , skiing, yoga, hiking, and cooking.
