Well Visits & Immunization Schedule

Well visits are how we track growth, catch things early, and stay on top of development. Each visit includes a physical exam, screenings, immunizations, and time to talk through what's ahead. We use CDC/AAP timing rules for vaccine validity, but the visit-by-visit schedule below reflects the Watchung Pediatrics routine schedule we use in the office. We list vaccines here in plain language, even though you may hear specific product names during your visit.

What happens at each visit

Physical exam

Height, weight, head circumference (infants), BMI (older kids), blood pressure, vision, and hearing checks as appropriate.

Developmental screening

Formal screening at 9, 18, and 30 months using validated tools. Autism-specific screening at 18 months. We track milestones at every visit.

Lab work

Lead and hemoglobin at 9 months and 2 years. Annual lead testing for children on Family Care insurance. College-bound labs for teens.

Anticipatory guidance

We talk through what's coming next — sleep, nutrition, safety, behavior, school readiness, screen time — whatever's relevant to your child's age.
